Should i tip my rmt

They remember the extra sauce you always ask for, give you extra cheese, make sure you get napkins, handle your order quickly or remember your name and greet you with a smile. Then you may choose to tip them. If your take-out is delivered to your home, you tip the driver.

Generally he is working just for tips. You tip your nail tech and hair stylist but not your massage therapist. When a service person does something extra or goes the extra mile for you, even if you would not normally tip them, you might chose to do so.

How you treat the person on a regular basis is more important than the amount of the tip. I believe a person would rather have a smaller tip or no tip from a person who treats them with respect and consideration than a wad of cash from someone who is rude and condescending. Write a letter to their employer or management commending the performance of a particular employee.

Have a question for Louise? Although we receive many questions about massage services at Therapeutic Body Concepts, one question often asked is whether or not you should tip your RMT. And, if so, how much should you tip? This blog post will cover tipping etiquette for massage therapy so you can lay back and enjoy your massage without stressing about how much to leave at the end of the appointment.

Tipping is a common practice for many service-based jobs. For example, you may tip your waitress, your hairdresser, or your nail technician. However, adding a tip can improve the quality of life of the service provider and add an extra incentive to go above and beyond in the service provided. As with many jobs, tipping is a great way to thank the individual offering you service. Some massage clinics have a no-tipping policy, in which case a simple thank you will suffice!

Whether or not a business allows tipping, a great way to help out the clinic and therapist is to share the great experience with others. Tell your family and friends about it, review the business online, get someone a gift card, or shout them out on social media. Note: Tips are not expected at Therapeutic Body Concepts, but we do offer the option if you like. Unless your RMT has a specific no-tipping policy or otherwise refuses tips, etiquette often is that you should provide a tip.

Good karma too : I am totally calling for the weekend now :D. Yes I've always tipped when going to the spa but this is a massage therapy clinic and it just seems different to me too. Maybe I'll just see how it goes and if she works wonders than I'll give her a small tip or something. The medical professionals I know--including RMTs in spas--all work for themselves. They rent the space in the spa, rather than getting paid an hourly wage.

Tipping is to supplement a low hourly wage, not to supplement a business owner. I stopped seeing an RMT once because during a home visit using MY massage table and MY bedding--so she didn't even have to set up or clean up! This is unprofessional and totally inappropriate. Things are different if you're having a massage from an esthetician. I tend to chat with my estheticians and hair stylists and ask if they rent their stations or if their work is an hourly-wage situation.

I used to work at spas, so I do this as part of the discussion naturally, and since I moved to Atlantic Canada, most just get paid by the hour totally different in BC and Ontario.
