When can you start skinning in cata

In the starter zone, Shadowglenn, there are cats and boars that go up to level 5. Once you head out of there into Teldrassil, there are a number of nightsabers that go up to at least level 10 if I remember right. I do believe though nightsabers are the only skinnable mobs. But the sabers are throughout all of Teldrassil with varying levels. They may even go up to level Once you get out of the small sub lvl 5 area there are plenty of cats to skin.

I had no issue getting skinning to 75 prior to leaving the starter area during the last test. Take into account you have to run practically to Darn to the hut by the bridge to get the skinning skill and dagger to begin with time that you could just complete the sub lvl 5 area and move on to the next area.

It is useful information. Comment by If youre like me and just started leveling your skinning at a high lvl 74 and want to do it fast, here is an guide on which areas to skin at Alliance and always skin at these areas until you don't get a lvl every time you skin 1.

Dun Morogh, mainly lvl 5 wolves and boars 2. Loch Modan 3. Redridge Mtns 4. Wetlands 5. Arathi highlands 6. Feralas 7. Northrend, starting at Howling Fjord and then Grizzly Hills which got me to the point where I was skinning monsters at my lvl.

Comment by martinmpop Whats the lowest level thats still green, realitive to your skill-level? I'm trying to figure out which levels are still worth killing for skinning. Comment by Note that skinning now also sometimes gives you Strange Bloated Stomach , which contains random volatile elements, so skinning no longer lags behind the other gathering professions in terms of access to crafting mats. Comment by Protip for all the cata skinners out there: the first shipwreck for Vashj'ir is one of the best places to farm your leather now.

Just keep killing the crabs and you will almost always get at least a Savage Leather and if you get scraps you'll get 4 scraps which is almost a full leather. After a half hour of farming I had 5 Strange Bloated Stomach 's, a Pristine Hide and about 90 pieces of Savage Leather this may apply to horde only as I'm not sure where alliance start, they are still able to farm this area as long as they aren't on a PvP server.

Comment by I've hit a snag with skinning. I had it before Cata along with Mining, but now I have dropped mining to add Leatherworking. Trying to find the leathers I need was alright until hitting lvl skinning.

I know Hides were already scarce, but nearly any mob that used to drop them have had their level changed, altering their drops, or removed altogether. It seems the WowHead database needs an overhaul in this regard, though I know they have a lot on their plate, I'm hoping all you skinners out there will take some time to post where you're finding your skins.

Comment by does anyone know of other ways to raise one's skinning skill beyond other then those enchants for the gloves? Comment by okay, so I have a question, what is the equation for skinning past lvl 80 mobs? I mean lvl 80 requires , which is not 80 x5 , so I assume 81 doesn't need , call it a hunch Comment by I am currently at skinning and was running a random and the dragon would not let me skin it required how do i get to ?

Comment by "I am currently at skinning and was running a random and the dragon would not let me skin it required how do i get to ? Comment by Golgathoth Tip: Don't skin while drunk. It will show everything as a lower level, which will confuse the crap out of you. Comment by Can someone please link a good website or can tell me where I can lvl my skinning I am currently at ?

Comment by NissaR doesn't like links here, wow-professions i use for all my proffs. Comment by Did the number of skins per mob drop after Cataclysm? Coulda sworn it used to be that you could get between like skins per kill a couple years ago, now it's just 1 every single time. Granted I'm only up to rugged leather so far, so could be different in BC and WotLK, but just thought that "vanilla" used to have a chance at more than one. Thanks in advance. Comment by Did i read correctly, that in patch 4.

Comment by You are right, kaltoran. I've recently leveled skinning and yes, during my stay in Outland and Northrend, I only went one point every two kills. I don't know why this happened, but as long as I hit Cataclysm, it went back to normal. It must have to do with the fact you can level up skinning rather quickly, as long as you're doing quests.

I mean, compare skinning with Mining or Herbalism for example. There are usually much much, more beasts around for you to kill and skin, rather than Mining nodes :p. Comment by skinning is a most profitable profession in the game its easy u get xp for killing u make money with leather its a win win win.

Comment by Where can Horde level skinninng from ? I am over whelmed and some what frustrated learning the way to play WOW and enjoy the game too. However, I found this to give me some what of guardian angel at my back. I want to enjoy leveling and not die trying everything while I explore the continents. Comment by For mining levels - ish, just kill bellygrub in redridge mountains. He spawns just west of lakeshore, and his respawn rate is almost instantaneous. Then do yourself a favor and continue to in duskwood.

Note: I recommend to skip the turtles in the large lava pool because it's really annoying to pull them while swimming in lava. The Tol Barad is located with the rest of the Cataclyzm zone portals just above the Valley of Wisdom in Orgrimmar and on the island to the north-east of the Dwarven District in Stormwind , but you have to be level 85 to use the portal.

This is the best palce to level if you can't solo Firelands. Kill Darkwood Lurkers and Darkwood Broodmothers around the marked area. Zygor's Leveling Guide So you can go after rarer and higher level animals. There are several ways you can quickly skin farm, which we will teach you in the rest of the article. With the Leatherworking profession, you may need different animal hides for each Leather you want to craft. Therefore, after a certain level, you must hunt different animals and try to drop hides from them.

If you are at the beginning of the game, it will be very easy to get the basic resource called Rawhide. However, it will take some effort to get advanced hides. But first you need to know that you cannot track and skin every animal at every level.

For this, you must have reached a certain level of Skinning and Tracking. And for each Territory, the Tier level of animals will vary, meaning the Skinning level required to skin an Elk will not be the same in Brightwood and Windsward. Therefore, your level must be sufficient to be able to Skinning in areas that require high levels.

Regardless of which Settlement you start the game in, the best area where you can do Skinning up to level 25 is the area where the Boars are. Here you can quickly farm your Skininning Level. You can kill the Boars that constantly respawn around the Watchtower , where you start the game.

Also, kill any animal you find whenever you can. Thus, you can quickly increase your Skinning level both while doing your main quests and doing your side quests. Since the Boars in Windsward are low level, you can easily kill them with one or two hits and skin them. Now you have to go to different regions and level up faster in order to farm at level 25 and beyond.

Wolves around Inkwell Cave , located just to the right of the Windsward Settlement , respawn quickly and you can increase your Skinning by killing them quickly. After leveling up here for a while and reaching Level 55 Skinning, you can go to slaughter the Sierra Wild Cats in the Cutlass Keys region. You can reach the max Skinning level very quickly by killing the creatures called Lushhunt Pointer that require high level and gear level.

But we advise you to be careful as this area and creatures require quite a high level. There are plenty of Lushhunt Pointers around Balmy Veldt , and they respawn very quickly.

It is located in the area where the castle of the Cutlass Keys Hamlet Settlement is located. In addition, the level of the creatures you need to kill is also important according to the skin you are looking for. If you want to produce Leathers of different qualities, you need to gather more than one Animal Hide, both at the advanced and beginner level. These Hides drop from creatures of different rank and have different rarity levels. You will need all Hides to advance your Leather production.

Rawhide is the easiest to gather and you can get it at the beginning of the game. You can gather from most low level zones, including the start zone. It drops from every creature in Level zones.

To begin progressing in the Leatherworking profession, you must first be able to produce Coarse Leather. And it takes a lot of Rawhide to craft this Leather. This Hide has no specific location, you can generally get it by farming creatures in zones
